# Troubleshooting

#### Quick fixes for common issues

This section helps you resolve the most common reasons a scan may be incomplete, look different from what you expect, or produce results that feel “wrong”.

Most problems fall into one of these buckets:

* Your site blocks automated checks (bot protection, logins, firewalls)
* Your site behaves differently for different visitors (cookie banners, regions, caching)
* A recent change introduced new issues (theme updates, plugins, scripts)
* A third-party tool or embed is slowing pages down

If you cannot find your issue below, contact support with:

* Your website URL
* The email used at checkout
* A screenshot (if relevant)
* The page URL(s) affected
* The exact message or issue you are seeing

#### Troubleshooting topics

* Why was my site only partially scanned?
* My site is password protected, can you still scan it?
* Bot protection or firewall blocking scans (Cloudflare and similar)
* Cookie banners and pop-ups affecting results
* My site is region restricted or shows different content by location
* The report says a page is broken, but it works for me
* My report looks different to last month, even though I changed nothing
* I did not receive my report
* Some pages were missed from the scan
* False positives and how to report them

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://sitescanly.gitbook.io/sitescanly/troubleshooting.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
